  • You have transportation issues.
  • You have received an eviction notice from your landlord or bank
  • You need help paying for your prescriptions.
  • You need help paying for your moving expenses

What is Benefit Bank?

CAB is a BENEFIT BANK site where low income South Carolina residents (from any zip code) can apply for a variety of benefits from multiple agencies via one application process. Plan to spend about an hour with one of our specially trained volunteers to complete the Benefit Bank application process.

In one interview, clients can complete applications for:

Medicaid (including the Children's Health Insurance Program – CHIP)
Low Income Subsidy (LIS) (Rx Assistance)
State and Federal taxes (refunds returned within 10 days or less)
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program SNAP – formerly food stamps
Lifeline (assistance with home phones)
Voter Registration 
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) 
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 
Military and Veteran's Benefits 
Welvista (prescription assistance)

What is a Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)?

CAB is a COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM (CSFP) application and distribution site. CSFP is a USDA program for low income seniors age 60 and above. Those who meet the financial qualifications and are approved receive a package of nutritious food and cheese to pick up at CAB once each month. See USDA Disclaimer
